How does e–trainingfordogs.com work?

E-Training for Dogs, Inc offers a menu of online dog training classes and uses the practice of eLearning to provide courses taught by topnotch instructors. Each student receives group and individual instruction over a period of time on how to train his or her dog in a specific set of skills and behaviors. We do have a free demonstration class that allows you to experience an online class taking you through the registration process all the way to attending a class online.

What is eLearning?

The term "eLearning" refers to the use of the Internet or computer as a platform to deliver courses or classes. Students use computers to connect to online live instructor-led classrooms that provide access to a rich learning environment containing audio, video, and multimedia technologies, in addition to text content.

How does eLearning work?

Although individual courses will differ, each class will employ a myriad of technology to deliver instructional material. Courses are delivered through webinars. This system allows instructors to schedule courses, teach courses, track and report on the progress of each student or a group/class of students.

Do students learn as much using eLearning courses as they would in a traditional, face to face class?

Studies done by the U.S. Office of Technology Assessment have show that eLearners do as well or better in courses and on tests than traditional students. The "Anywhere Anytime" flexibility of eLearning contributes to better retention than conventional learning environments.

Can trainees stop and start their class at any time?

Yes, but only if you elect to take a Recorded Session. The Live Sessions are just that, Live. Though you can “log out” and “log in” whenever you wish during the scheduled time, you will miss that lesson. However, each Live Session will be recorded and available for an extended period of time (usually until the next class) for limitless review by the registered students of that class.

Can I take the class from any computer? From any location?

Yes, as long as you have the latest version of Flash player installed on your computer. Modem, or Dial-up users are welcome, but you may experience lag in video demonstrations.

What are the benefits of online learning?

There are several huge benefits for the instructor and the student. eLearning saves from the added expenses of professional training fees, training facilities, travel expenses, course materials and lost productivity when you travel for a seminar. Student’s benefit from an environment where you set your own schedule and learn at your own pace.

How much do your online courses cost?

Because we list dozens of course and program offerings from various instructors, e-Training for Dogs, Inc. does not normally publish pricing. You will have to click through to the course that you are interested in to find out pricing, registration details and any other information you are looking for.

Generally our courses run from $100-$720 per course. This may seem expensive until you consider the costs of the other ways you may gain training experience. Books and videos cost between $40 and $500 depending on how many you have and the quality of instruction. Going to a seminar or workshop costs money in time away from work to travel, hotel, gas, food and the seminar costs ($500-$2,500). A professional trainer is going to take your dog for a few months, charge between $500-$1,000 per month then give you back a dog that you can not maintain that level of training because you don't learn it too...just the dog. Our costs are actually a steal when you compare them to the options. Additionally, we provide QUALITY instruction, individualized instruction and we will work with you and your dog as you both learn together. We also open up the whole dog world to you. You do not have to live near a professional or send your dog away. You get the pleasure, knowledge and satisfaction of learning to do it yourself and do it right.

Could you tell me if there is any recognition for completing the online courses offered?

e–training for Dogs, Inc. lists a wide variety of online courses - from general interest training, competition or sport training courses, to courses for professional working dogs. A course that is offered for fun or for general interest may or may not offer a certificate of completion. A competition or sport training course will generally include a certificate of completion or an award of some kind as a result of the dog’s training. Professional working dog courses will include the applicable credits. You will have to click through to the site that you are interested in to find out the exact award/credit info.

If I am unsatisfied by the course, can I get my money back?

e-Training for Dogs, Inc. limits attendance in classes and often has limited openings for their courses. If you are registered for a course and can not attend you have up until one week before the course begins to request a refund. If you are in a course and are unsatisfied with the content or instructor, you can withdraw before the second class with a refund of 70% of your paid tuition. After you attend the second class, there will be no refund.
