Earning a Dog Trainer Certificate at E-Training for Dogs, Inc.

Step One: Decide which certificate is right for you:

At e-Training for Dogs, Inc. we have three (3) levels of dog trainer programs:

1. Associate Dog Trainer (ADT)
2. Professional Dog Trainer (PDT)
3. Professional Canine Training Specialist (PCTS)

The ADT is either for someone who owns a dog(s) and is interested in building a stronger bond with their dog; or, someone just starting out in a career as a Dog Trainer who needs to learn some of the basic knowledge and skills. You must complete the ADT before earning a PDT or PCTS. However, you may test out of the ADT through Advanced Placement.

The PDT is for someone who really wants to make a career out of dog training; or, just wants to learn a LOT about dogs. The graduates of this program will understand dogs and dog training on many levels and from many philosophies resulting in a well-rounded professional. It can also be for the person who is simply an avid dog lover or an enthusiast with a thirst for the most current and relevant knowledge available in the world of dogs. You must complete the PDT before earning a PCTS. However, you may test out of SOME of the PDT through Advanced Placement.

The PCTS is similar to declaring a "Major" in college. The PCTS takes what he or she has learned in the PDT and applies that knowledge in a specific area of their chosing. This student will become a "Specialist" in a particular area of dog training or skill.

Step Two: Getting Registered

Next, pay the registration fee for the Certification program you choose or the level you need to take. We will contact you by email or telephone at this point. If you are going all the way Level Three (the PCTS), start with the ADT, then the PDT. If you already have a lot of dog experience, you may test out of the ADT through Advanced Placement .

Step Three: Start Taking Classes

Start at the ADT page (or PDT if you have received Advanced standing from us) and begin taking classes. Classes are paid for one at a time and are applied toward your Certification as long as you have paid the Registration Fee.

That's It!
