If you don’t RAWknow about Jonni Joyce, now is the time to experience it. There is a reason this class is called RAW. That stands for REMOTE #@% WHOOPIN’!  And this is your chance to participate. Having trained dogs and people since 1988, served in local government as a law enforcement officer, and dealt with the politics of SAR at the local, state, and national level, over the years Jonni has demonstrated a unique ability to cut thru the BS and offer pearls of wisdom bringing gray areas into the world of black and white. This is your reality check. This is JONNI JOYCE RAW!

Jonni Joyce first began her career in working dogs in the 1980’s as a canine handler with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina. She worked a dual purpose patrol dog, a Belgian Malinois named “Breston”, for a number of years before opening her own professional working dog training facility. Jonni Joyce Teaching
Jonni has been a certified instructor with N.C. Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission, possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University and was awarded an Advanced Law Enforcement Certification from the state in 1993. Jonni has been ruled an expert witness in the State of North Carolina in the training and handling of working dogs. In her role as master trainer with the International Police Work Dog Association, she has trained police and search and rescue teams across the United States as well as acting as a consultant for law enforcement and rescue agencies.
In 2000, Jonni was recruited to the RDU International Airport Police Department to organize and develop the explosive detection canine program at that airport in Raleigh, North Carolina. Assigned to Special Operations as a detective, Jonni served as a liaison between federal authorities and local police in the development of explosive incidents protocol, utilization of canines, and dignitary protection. Jonni and her explosive dog, Jesse, were called upon to assist the United States Secret Service, the US Marine Corps, the US Department of Justice, and the US State Department with their dignitary protection services. Jonni and K9 Jesse were used for several presidential and vice-presidential details both on and off the airport, as well as many foreign dignitary details.  K9 Jesse was profiled in the book “DOG HEROES” by Jen Bidner and died of a massive seizure.
Jonni has taught both at the national and international levels for organizations like NASAR, SR/DR, SARCENE, and IPWDA. Serving as a volunteer for her local search and rescue organization, Jonni works to bridge the gap between law enforcement and trained civilian resources.

We do not recommend taking a course if you have access to the internet ONLY through a dial-up modem. The speed is just too slow and you will not have a good experience. HOWEVER, you can go to the local library or public areas with free wireless “areas” such as hotel lobbies or coffee houses and take your course. You will need to bring your cell phone. Though the call is toll-free to teleconference, depending on your wireless cell phone service plan, you may be charged for the minutes.
Check out the availability to have wireless through Direct TV or Satellite installed at your home. The costs are getting more reasonable every day.
