PD302: Pointing Puppy II
Purpose: To teach your adolescent dog the necessary skills to make a competent bird dog.
Course Info: This course is designed specifically for pointing breed puppies that have taken Pointing Puppy I. Owners/handlers will learn how to soldify the behaviors taught in Pointing Puppy I. Using positive reinforcement, we will lengthen your whoas, and create solid and dependable retrieves. We will focus on strengthening the basic pet manners learned in the previous class. Other topics may be addressed to more customize this course to each participant's personal needs. This class will make learning the bird dog game more fun for both you and your puppy.
Prerequisites: Pointing Puppy I
Course Length: 8 one-hour sessions
Live—You will speak to the instructor in an online “classroom” with other students. Choose from the listed times in the Course Registration box above.
OnDemand/Recorded—Watch classes "OnDemand"- at your own pace. Click on "OnDemand/Recorded Session" under "Register for Recorded Class" above.
Certification/For Credit-You will participate fully in the class with required homework and tests. You will send in homework (may include video) to learn "hands on" with the instructor examining and providing individualized feedback, attention and assistance on course material.
Audited-You will participate fully in the class with no required homework or tests.
The instructor will not provide any assistance out of class such as viewing your videos in order to be able to give you individualized feedback.

Instructor: Sarah Story(shortstory02@hotmail.com) has been working with dogs her entire life. She grew up in a "bird dog" home. Sarah ran her first (North American Shoot To Retrieve Association (NSTRA) field trial at the age of eight and has not stopped since. She plans on fulfilling her requirements to become a NSTRA judge in 2006. In addition to field work, Sarah has experience in Agility, Obedience,
and Confirmation. She and her dog "Checkers" are registered with Therapy Dog, Inc. as a working Therapy Dog team along with the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen (CGC). Currently, Sarah is an Associate Trainer for Canine Companions by Certifed Trainers where she is a head instructor for group classes, accepts private behavior modifciation cases in addition to boarding and training. She has been training with Canine Companions for three years and loves working with all breeds of dogs, but her heart truly belongs to the pointing dog.
