DB206: Canine Cognition

This course uses cognitive theories to explain HOW dogs think. This course will teach how cognition, the mental process of knowing, including aspects such as awareness, perception, reasoning, and judgment, relate to how dogs learn. Other cognitive elements such as perception, memory, attention and motivation will be studied and ideas presented for how we might better work with our dogs using these theories. The emphasis will be on cognition and socio-cognitive behavior.
