BG203: Origin and Evolution of the Dog
This course enables students to learn the various theories in how the dog came to be the companion he now is with humans. Learn how evolution and the domestication of the dog now influences the behavior of domestic dogs. Evolution, environment and breed-type characteristics will be explored. Students who complete this course will have a working knowledge of how the origin and evolution of the dog impacts his behavior today and how this knowledge can be used to continue to strengthen our bonds with our dogs. The emphasis will be on origin and domestication.
